Australian presence is required for .au domains. In brief:

  • .com.au / .net.au — For businesses with an Australian presence (e.g. ABN/ACN/Registered Business). The domain must be reasonably connected to the business name, product or service.
  • .org.au / .asn.au — For eligible not-for-profit and incorporated associations with Australian presence.
  • .id.au — For individuals who are Australian citizens or residents (typically based on your legal name).
  • .au (direct) — For any registrant with an Australian presence (business or individual). No category suffix required.

During checkout we’ll prompt for the appropriate eligibility details (e.g. ABN/ACN or organisation info) where required.
